What is Organic Farming?

Organic Farming can be defined as an integrated farming system that strives for sustainability, the enhancement of soil fertility and biological diversity whilst, with rare exceptions, prohibiting synthetic pesticides, antibiotics, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, and growth hormones. Organic agriculture combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote fair relationships and a good quality of life for all involved.

Organic farming practices reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.

What are the Fertilizers used in Organic Farming?

The fertilizers such as Jeevamrutha, Ghana Jeevamrutha & Panchakaviya are used in organic farming.

Jeevamrutha hastens the natural functions of the soil by increasing the growth rate of plants and their yield. Earthworm, inevitable to the fertility of soil moves up towards the top as a result of this. The element in the excreta of earthworm, is broken down into molecular form by the microbes in the Jeevamrutha, so that, it can be easily absorbed by the roots. These microbes disintegrate wastes in the soil there by making soil more fertile. The upward and downward movement of the worm loosens up the soil. This creates a positive environment for the growth of plants. It also helps plants to absorb nutrients from the soil.

Ghana Jeevamrutha is an organic fertilizer which enriches the soil and plant and provides all the nutrients required for the growth of the plant. It is a rich source of Nitrogen and valuable micro-organisms which naturally enhances soil fertility.

Panchagavya plays a major role in the growth of plants and also in increasing the immunity of plants. By increasing the immunity, the plants will be able to resist the pests and diseases caused by them. The specialty of Panchagavya is its nutrient content. It has micronutrients like Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium which is the main things required for the growth of plants.
